تستضيف مكتبة الإسكندرية ورشة عمل دولية حول التغيرات المناخية، بالتعاون بين الاتحاد من أجل المتوسط والمركز الأوروبي للتنبؤات الجوية متوسطة المدى (ECMWF) ، ومركز دراسات الإسكندرية وحضارة البحر المتوسط ومركز دراسات التنمية المستدامة وبناء قدرات الشباب بقطاع البحث الأكاديمي بالمكتبة، وذلك يومي 16 و17 ديسمبر 2025 بمركز المؤتمرات بمكتبة الإسكندرية.
تأتي الورشة في إطار الاحتفال باختيار الإسكندرية عاصمة ثقافية للمتوسط لعام 2025، وتهدف إلى عرض أحدث التطبيقات العلمية في استخدام بيانات المناخ والغلاف الجوي لدعم التحول نحو الطاقة المتجددة، بالإضافة إلى مناقشة آليات حماية التراث الثقافي في مواجهة التغيرات المناخية، وما تفرضه من تحديات بيئية واقتصادية على دول البحر المتوسط.
تستضيف ورشة العمل خبراء ومتخصصين من مؤسسات دولية وإقليمية مرموقة في مجالات التنبؤات المناخية، والطاقة المستدامة، وإدارة التراث، فضلًا عن مشاركة ممثلين لعدد من الهيئات الدولية المعنية بقضايا المناخ والتنمية، وذلك بهدف تعزيز التعاون وتبادل الخبرات بين دول المنطقة.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is hosting an international workshop on climate change, organized in cooperation between the Union for the Mediterranean and the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), along with the Alexandria and Mediterranean Studies Center and the Sustainable Development Studies and Youth Capacity Building Center within the Academic Research Sector of the Library. The workshop will take place on December 16–17, 2025, at the Conference Center of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
The workshop is held as part of the celebration of Alexandria being selected as the Mediterranean Cultural Capital for 2025. It aims to present the latest scientific applications in the use of climate and atmospheric data to support the transition toward renewable energy, as well as to discuss mechanisms for protecting cultural heritage in the face of climate change and the environmental and economic challenges it poses to Mediterranean countries.
The workshop will host experts and specialists from leading international and regional institutions in the fields of climate forecasting, sustainable energy, and heritage management, in addition to representatives from several international organizations concerned with climate and development issues. This is intended to enhance cooperation and promote the exchange of expertise among countries of the region.
