Few days ago , the results of the first round of onshore wind auctions in Germany have been published. While the average price at 5,71 ct/kWh has been within what has been expected, it came out as a big surprise that 93% of the winning projects and 96% of the winning capacity belong to community power groups. It has to be stated that these groups received special privileges within the bidding conditions, e.g. they didn’t need to get all permissions prior to submitting their bid. In addition, community wind projects have now 54 months (24 months more than other projects) to install the turbines.
