A conference organized by the Italian Chamber of
Commerce in Egypt (CCI Egypt), in collaboration with the Chamber of
Commerce of Verona (CCIAA Verona), was held at the Verona Chamber’s
conference center. The event saw wide participation from companies,
particularly from the mechanical and agri-food sectors.
“Egypt is today a stable and rapidly
expanding trade partner — a true gateway to the African continent and a
strategic regional hub, a role further strengthened by its recent accession
to the BRICS Plus bloc,” said Carlo De Paoli, member of the
Chamber’s Board, who opened the event and welcomed the Egyptian institutional
representatives.
CCI Egypt President, Comm. Alberto
Borchiellini, participated in the opening session to welcome the Egyptian
institutional representatives participating in the conference agenda and
welcome Italian companies, too. He
highlighted the global development in
various aspects in the Egyptian country which is rich of business opportunities
for the Italian business community.
Dr Riham Abdelbari, Egyptian Consul at
Milan, expressed appreciation to the
Italian Chamber of Commerce in Egypt and the Verona Chamber for organizing the
event that supports Egyptian–Italian economic cooperation. During her speech
she emphasized:
- Italy is Egypt’s main trade partner in Europe, first EU
destination for Egyptian exports, and the 5th largest investor with over
1,400 companies.
- Egypt offers a highly attractive investment environment due to
its strategic location, large market, skilled workforce, and major
infrastructure.
- The Egyptian government is improving the investment climate
through regulatory reforms and tax incentives.
- Egypt’s free trade agreements make it a gateway to regional
markets.
- There are significant opportunities for Italian investment in energy,
agriculture, transportation, development projects, and capacity building,
especially within the Suez Canal Economic Zone and the New
Administrative Capital.
Dr Riham Abdel-Bari’s speech concluded with
a call to deepen collaboration between Egypt and Italy for mutual growth and
shared prosperity.
The event gathered key representatives from
both countries, including the Ministry of Planning, GAFI, SCZone, CDP, SIMEST, Confindustria
Assafrica & Mediterraneo, Alex Bank
Banque Misr, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena e SGS Italia.
During the conference, representatives from
the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development & International Cooperation
(MoPEDIC), the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), the Suez
Canal Economic Zone, and the Embassy of Egypt in Rome presented the ongoing
industrialization programs, the services offered by the special economic zones,
and the significant incentives available for foreign investors.
Mr Mohamed Wahba, Deputy Head of the
Commercial Office at the Egyptian Embassy in Rome delivered a presentation
titled “Investment Ecosystem in Egypt”, showcasing Egypt’s dynamic economic
reforms and the wide range of opportunities available for Italian investors.
The numerous projects underway in Egypt — ranging from infrastructure and urban mobility to renewable energy, logistics, and construction materials — confirm the strategic importance of this country for the Italian industrial and entrepreneurial landscape. Equally fundamental is the presence in Cairo of the offices of CDP Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and Simest which provide financial instruments and operational support to Italian companies interested in investing and strengthening their activities in this market.
The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Egypt,
member of Assocamerestero, is working on gathering business opportunities and
providing support to Egyptian and Italian companies by strengthening the
business relationships among the Egyptian-Italian business community.

نظّمت الغرفة التجارية الإيطالية في مصر (CCI Egypt)، بالتعاون مع غرفة تجارة فيرونا (CCIAA Verona)، مؤتمرًا عُقد في مركز المؤتمرات التابع لغرفة فيرونا. شهد الحدث مشاركة واسعة من الشركات، خاصة من قطاعات الميكانيكا والصناعات الغذائية الزراعية.
وقال كارلو دي باولي، عضو مجلس إدارة الغرفة، الذي افتتح الحدث ورحب بممثلي المؤسسات المصرية:
“مصر اليوم شريك تجاري مستقر وسريع النمو — بوابة حقيقية إلى القارة الإفريقية ومركز إقليمي استراتيجي، وهو دور تعزز أكثر بانضمامها الأخير إلى تكتل بريكس بلس (BRICS Plus).”
شارك في الجلسة الافتتاحية رئيس الغرفة التجارية الإيطالية في مصر، القائد ألبرتو بوركييلليني، الذي رحّب بممثلي المؤسسات المصرية المشاركين في جدول أعمال المؤتمر وكذلك بالشركات الإيطالية. وأكد على التطور الكبير الذي تشهده مصر في مختلف المجالات، مشيرًا إلى أن البلاد تزخر بفرص استثمارية واسعة أمام مجتمع الأعمال الإيطالي.
من جانبها، أعربت د. ريهام عبد الباري، القنصل المصري في ميلانو، عن تقديرها للغرفة التجارية الإيطالية في مصر وغرفة تجارة فيرونا لتنظيم هذا الحدث الذي يدعم التعاون الاقتصادي بين مصر وإيطاليا. وخلال كلمتها، شددت على النقاط التالية:
• إيطاليا هي الشريك التجاري الأول لمصر في أوروبا، وأول وجهة لصادرات مصر داخل الاتحاد الأوروبي، وخامس أكبر مستثمر بأكثر من 1,400 شركة.
• مصر توفر بيئة استثمارية جاذبة للغاية بفضل موقعها الاستراتيجي وسوقها الكبير والقوى العاملة الماهرة والبنية التحتية المتطورة.
• تعمل الحكومة المصرية على تحسين مناخ الاستثمار من خلال الإصلاحات التشريعية والحوافز الضريبية.
• اتفاقيات التجارة الحرة التي أبرمتها مصر تجعلها بوابة للأسواق الإقليمية.
• توجد فرص استثمارية كبيرة للشركات الإيطالية في مجالات الطاقة والزراعة والنقل والمشروعات التنموية وبناء القدرات، وخاصة داخل المنطقة الاقتصادية لقناة السويس والعاصمة الإدارية الجديدة.
واختتمت د. ريهام عبد الباري كلمتها بدعوة لتعميق التعاون بين مصر وإيطاليا لتحقيق النمو المشترك والازدهار المتبادل.
شهد المؤتمر حضور شخصيات ومؤسسات بارزة من البلدين، من بينها: وزارة التخطيط، الهيئة العامة للاستثمار والمناطق الحرة (GAFI)، المنطقة الاقتصادية لقناة السويس (SCZone)، بنك CDP، مؤسسة SIMEST، اتحاد الصناعات الإيطالية (Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo)، بنك الإسكندرية، بنك مصر، بنك مونتي دي باسكي دي سيينا، وشركة SGS Italia.
خلال المؤتمر، قدّم ممثلو وزارة التخطيط والتنمية الاقتصادية والتعاون الدولي (MoPEDIC) والهيئة العامة للاستثمار والمناطق الحرة والمنطقة الاقتصادية لقناة السويس وسفارة مصر في روما عروضًا توضيحية حول برامج التصنيع الجارية والخدمات المقدمة في المناطق الاقتصادية الخاصة والحوافز الكبيرة المتاحة للمستثمرين الأجانب.
قدّم ا. محمد وهبة، نائب رئيس المكتب التجاري بسفارة مصر في روما، عرضًا بعنوان “منظومة الاستثمار في مصر”، تناول فيه الإصلاحات الاقتصادية الديناميكية في البلاد والفرص الواسعة المتاحة أمام المستثمرين الإيطاليين.
تؤكد المشروعات العديدة الجاري تنفيذها في مصر — بدءًا من البنية التحتية والتنقل الحضري وصولًا إلى الطاقة المتجددة واللوجستيات ومواد البناء — الأهمية الاستراتيجية لمصر في المشهد الصناعي وريادة الأعمال الإيطالي. كما يُعتبر وجود مكتبي بنك الودائع والقروض الإيطالي (CDP) وشركة سيمِست (Simest) في القاهرة عنصرًا أساسيًا في دعم الشركات الإيطالية من خلال توفير الأدوات المالية والدعم التشغيلي للراغبين في الاستثمار وتعزيز أنشطتهم بالسوق المصري.
