ربما تشهد القاهرة الكبرى تراجعا في الانبعاثات التي تسبب التلوث البيئي قريبا، بدعم من قرض قيمته 200 مليون دولار من البنك الدولي للإنشاء والتعمير التابع للبنك الدولي، والذي حصل على موافقة لجنة الطاقة والبيئة بمجلس النواب، وفق جريدة أخبار اليوم. يهدف المشروع لتحسين نظام رصد جودة الهواء بالقاهرة الكبرى، وإنشاء مدفن متكامل لإدارة المخلفات بالعاشر من رمضان، وزيادة الاعتماد على الحافلات الكهربائية وما يتصل بها من تطوير للبنية التحتية كمحطات شحن السيارات، بالإضافة إلى دعم المبادرات الخضراء الأخرى. وكان مجلس الوزراء وقع على اتفاق التمويل أواخر فبراير، بعد موافقة البنك الدولي على القرض في أكتوبر الماضي.
Greater Cairo may witness a decline in emissions that cause environmental pollution soon, with the support of a $ 200 million loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development of the World Bank, which received approval from the Energy and Environment Committee in the House of Representatives on past Tuesday, according to Akhbar Al-Youm newspaper
The project aims to improve the air quality monitoring system in Greater Cairo, establish an integrated landfill for waste management in the tenth of Ramadan, and increase reliance on electric buses and related infrastructure development such as car charging stations, in addition to supporting other green initiatives
The cabinet signed the financing agreement in late February, after the World Bank approved the loan last October
