في 18 يونيو 2022، أعلنت الهيئة العامة للمنطقة الاقتصادية لقناة السويس أنها تدرس الحصول على قرض بقيمة تقارب 10 مليارات جنيه لتمويل البنية التحتية لمشروعات الهيدروجين الأخضر في السخنة وشرق بورسعيد، تبعاً لتصريحات مسئول بالهيئة، والذي أضاف أنه جارٍ التواصل مع عدة بنوك محلية ــ رفض الإفصاح عنها ــ للحصول على التمويل اللازم لمقابلة الاحتياجات المالية للهيئة والمتعلقة بالبنية التحتية لمشروعات الهيدروجين الأخضر، مؤكداً أن القرض الجديد سيكون بضمانة من وزارة المالية.[1]
الهيئة العامة للمنطقة الاقتصادية قامت بتوقيع 6 مذكرات تفاهم لمشروعات الهيدروجين الأخضر والأمونيا الخضراء مع كبرى الشركات والتحالفات العالمية، لإقامة منشآت ومجمعات صناعية بمنطقة السخنة لإنتاج الوقود الأخضر واستخدامه فى أغراض تموين السفن أو التصدير للأسواق الخارجية، فى إطار خطة الهيئة أن تصبح منطقة السخنة مركزاً إقليمياً رائداً فى صناعات الهيدروجين الأخضر، تزامناً مع التحول العالمى لاستخدامات الطاقة النظيفة، والمتوقع ان تبلغ استثمارات مشروعات الهيدروجين الأخضر بالسخنة أكثر من 10 مليارات دولار، فى حال تنفيذ هذه العقود وتوافق الهيئة والشركات على دراسات الجدوى.
كانت الهيئة العامة للمنطقة الاقتصادية لقناة السويس أعلنت فى أبريل 2021 عن توقيع عقد تمويل مع تحالف 6 بنوك محلية لتوفير قرض مشترك طويل الأجل بقيمة 10 مليارات جنيه يوجه لاستكمال أعمال التطوير فى البنية التحتية والمرافق فى المناطق الصناعية والموانئ التابعة للمنطقة الاقتصادية وذلك بضمانة حكومية.
وتبلغ مساحة المنطقة الاقتصادية 460 كيلومترا مربعا، ويديرها قانون خاص صادر عام 2015 المعدل من قانون 2002، وتنقسم إلى منطقتين شمالية وجنوبية، تضمان 6 موانئ و4 مناطق صناعية، ويعمل بها نحو 15 مطورا صناعيا وقرابة 220 شركة عاملة باستثمارات تقترب من 18 مليار دولار تشغل آلاف فرص العمل.
تستهدف استراتيجية 2020ــ2025 التى تعمل عليها المنطقة حاليا، خلق فرص استثمارية جديدة فى قطاعات صناعية، وبحرية، ومراكز لوجيستية، وأيضا توطين الصناعات ذات الأولوية، بغرض إحلال الواردات، وكذلك اعتماد سياسة التجمعات الصناعية المتكاملة، واستحداث منصات للصناعات الصغيرة والمتوسطة فى بعض المناطق القريبة من منطقة الدلتا، وخصوصا فى منطقة القنطرة غرب.

General Authority for the Economic Zone had signed 6 memoranda of understanding for green hydrogen and green ammonia projects with major international companies and alliances, to establish industrial facilities and complexes in the Sokhna region to produce green fuel and use it for ship supply purposes or export to foreign markets, within the framework of the authority’s plan to become a regional center A pioneer in the green hydrogen industries, coinciding with the global transformation of clean energy uses. The investments of green hydrogen projects in Sokhna are expected to reach more than $10 billion, if these contracts are implemented and the authority and companies agree on feasibility studies.
General Authority for the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal announced in April 2021 the signing of a financing contract with a consortium of 6 local banks to provide a long-term joint loan of 10 billion pounds directed to complete the development of infrastructure and facilities in the industrial zones and ports affiliated to the economic zone, with a government guarantee.
The area of the economic zone is 460 square kilometers, and it is managed by a special law issued in 2015 amending the 2002 law.
It is divided into two northern and southern regions, comprising 6 ports and 4 industrial zones, and employing about 15 industrial developers and nearly 220 operating companies with investments close to 18 billion dollars, occupying thousands of Jobs chances.
