13th Cairo Climate Talks (CCT)
“Growing Thirst – Sustainable Water Solutions for Egypt”

February, 2013 – With growing concerns about
the impact of climate change on Egypt’s water supply, Cairo Climate Talks
tackles this issue in its 13th panel discussion, following a
German-Egyptian workshop that takes place in Cairo between February 18th
and 20th.
The panel will begin by an introductory
wrap-up of the findings of the Sustainable Water Technologies Workshop
(SUSWATECH) by Prof. Dr. Torsten Schmidt, University of Duisburg-Essen. Then
Keynote speakers from Egypt and Germany will lead the discussion shedding light
on the impact of climate change Egypt’s water supply and demand and how the
implications can be addressed. It will also discuss the quantitative and qualitative
water problems in Egypt and how could they be solved.

“Cairo Climate
Talks” is a series of monthly events meant to provide a platform to exchange
experience, raise awareness and foster cooperation between policymakers, the
business community, the scientific community as well as civil society. It is
held in cooperation between the German Embassy in Cairo, the Egyptian Ministry
of State for Environmental Affairs, the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency
(EEAA), the German Academic Exchange service (DAAD), the Deutsche Gesellschaft
für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Egyptian German High Level
Joint Committee for Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Environmental
Protection (JCEE).

حلقة نقاش اللقاء الثالث عشر لمنتدى القاهرة للتغير المناخي
"في مكافحة العطش – حلول مستدامة
للمياه في مصر"
يوم الأربعاء الموافق 20 من فبراير 2013، الساعة السابعة مساءً
بمقر المركز العلمي الألماني بالقاهرة (١١ ش الصالح أيوب،
الزمالك، القاهرة)
فبراير 2013 – مع تنامي القلق بشأن الآثار المحتملة للتغير المناخي
على موارد مصر المائية، يناقش منتدى القاهرة للتغير المناخي هذه القضية في حلقتة
النقاشية الثالثة عشر يوم الأربعاء الموافق 20 فبراير، وذلك في أعقاب ورشة عمل
مصرية - ألمانية تعقد بالقاهرة من 18 وحتى 20 فبراير.
وتبدأ الحلقة النقاشية بملخص لنتائج ورشة
العمل حول التكنولوجيا المستدامة للمياه ويقدمه دكتور تورستن شميدت من جامعة دويسبورغ
إيسن. يعقب ذلك التقديم نقاش حول تأثير للتغير المناخي على موارد مصر المائية
وكيفية التعامل مع تداعيات تلك الآثار. كما ستناقش المشكلات الكمية والكيفية
للمياه التي تواجة مصر وكيفية التعامل معها وسبل حلها.
ويتشرف منتدى القاهرة للتغير المناخي بالترحيب بكل من: دكتور طارق قطب، مساعد
أول وزير الري والموارد المائية، كلوديا بوركن، منسق قطاع المياه بهيئة التعاون الألماني للتنمية ومدير برنامج في البنك
الألماني للتنمية، لما الهاتو، أحد مؤسسي معهد النيل للمياه، الأستاذ الدكتور علي موفيت بهادر، معهد البيئية والكيمياء المستدامة، جامعة براونشفايغ التقنية، الأستاذ
الدكتور تورستن شميدت، مركز أبحاث البيئة والمياه، جامعة دويسبورغ إيسن.

الألمانية ووزارة الدولة المصرية لشئون البيئة وجهاز شئون البيئة وهيئة الألمانية
