The 1st Euro-Egyptian Energy Day
Under the auspices of H.E Ibrahim Mehleb, the Prime Minister of
Egypt, Eng. Sherif Ismail, Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Resources
and Eng. Ahmed Shaker, Minister of Electricity & Renewable Energy,
the first Euro-Egyptian Energy Day will take place on Friday, 21st of
November 2014 at the Aquarium Grotto in Zamalek
The Euro-Egyptian Energy Day is a local event that aims to raise
public awareness of Energy Efficiency (EE) and its uses in everyday
life, the implementation of Renewable Energy (RE) and the links between
energy and climate change
The event is being organized by the Confederation of Egyptian
European Business Associations as well as Egyptian institutions involved
in Sustainable Energy with the support of the European Union through
the EU Funded Technical Assistance to support the reform of the Energy
Sector, Arab Republic of Egypt (TARES) as part of the Energy Sector
Policy Support Programme (Energy SPSP) for Egypt
It hopes to encourage employees of the public sector to become
leaders in reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Key
stakeholders include politicians, consumers, families with children,
school and university students, professionals, institutions and local
companies as well as the representative of the EU and the European
countries and relevant donor projects
About 1000 participants are expected to join the Euro-Egyptian Energy
Day. The main target group are the employees and families of key
institutions (Ministry of Petroleum and Ministry of Electricity and
Renewable Energy, etc.) involved in both energy policy and Energy
Efficiency solutions
Lots of activities are planned on this day including Educational
activities and programmes allowing children and youth to discover EE
& RES, Exhibitions and fairs where public and private organisations
will demonstrate and explain their energy technologies to the wider
public, Broadcast videos on energy efficiency and European best
practices and much more
