IRENA will organize the
second “International Forum on Long-term Energy Scenarios for the Clean Energy
Transition” between 25-27 March, during the Berlin Energy Week.
This Forum will gather
experts directly involved in either using or developing long-term energy
scenarios to support policymaking and planning for the clean energy transition.
Representatives from governments, technical institutions, academia, industry and
the private sector will be invited to exchange practical experience and gather
good practices from around the world.
It will be built on the
rich discussions that have been held under the umbrella of the Clean Energy
Ministerial (CEM) Campaign on Long-term
Scenarios for the Energy Transition (LTES Campaign) since its inception
in June 2018, and on activities organized under IRENA’s Long-term Energy
Scenario Network – LTES Network which expanded the
scope of the LTES Campaign.
The Forum will begin with a
side event during the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue on the 25th, followed
by two days of deep-dive sessions.
Last year's 2019 LTES International Forum provided a platform
for dynamic discussions with around 130 experts from over 35 countries.
