في إطار استراتيجية قطاع الكهرباء التي تهدف إلى تنويع مصادر الطاقة والتوسع في استخدم الطاقة المتجددة وترشيد استخدام مصادر الطاقة التقليدية، وفي إطار الإستراتيجية الوطنية للطاقة المتجددة والتي تهدف إلى الوصول بإجمالي مشاركة مصادر الطاقة المتجددة إلى أكثر من أربعين في المائة بحلول عام 2035.
أصدرت هيئة الطاقة الجديدة والمتجددة NREA التقريرالسنوي لعام 2021 يتضمن رصد لأنشطة الطاقة المتجددة خلال عام 2021، ويوضح تقدم الأعمال في مجالات الطاقة المائية، الشمسية، الرياح، والكتلة الإحيائية، فعلى الرغم من تأثير جائحة كورونا على الاقتصاد العالمي سلبيًا، تمكن قطاع الطاقة المتجددة في مصر من إحراز نجاحات، شملت دخول محطة طاقة رياح بقدرة 250 م.و. مملوكة لشركة بريطانية بمنطقة خليج السويس حيز الإنتاج التجاري، بنظام الإنشاء والتملك والتشغيل BOO.
توقيع هيئة الطاقة الجديدة والمتجددة عقد محطة خلايا شمسية لإنتاج الكهرباء بقدرة 50 م.و. بمنطقة الزعفرانة، وتوقيع عقد استشاري لمحطة خلايا شمسية بقدرة 50 ميجا وات في كوم أمبو، وبيع 1,9 مليون شهادة كربون،ما يشير إلى التقدم الملموس للاستثمار في الطاقة النظيفة في مصر.
أظهر التقرير وصول إنتاجية الطاقة الكهرومائية خلال العام 2021 حوالي 13879 مليون ك.و.س ، بينما سجلت مشروعات طاقة الرياح إلى حوالي 5443 مليون ك.و.س ، فيما بلغت الطاقة المنتجة من الخلايا الشمسية المتصلة بالشبكة حوالي 4487 مليون ك.و.س، فضلاً عن حوالي 84 مليون ك.و.س مولدة من مشروعات الوقود الحيوي.
ساهم ذلك خلال ذات الفترة في خفض انبعاثات ثاني أكسيد الكربون بما يقارب 10 مليون طن ثاني أكسيد كربون ، وتوفير ما يقارب 4.4 مليون طن بترول مكافئ ، ما يبرز الدور الكبير للطاقة المتجددة في مجابهة تغير المناخ ، المنتظر عقد مؤتمر الأطراف السابع والعشرين COP27 ، في نوفمبر القادم بمدينة شرم الشيخ.
في إطار الدور الهام الذي يلعبه القطاع الخاص في تحقيق أهداف الاستراتيجية الوطنية للطاقة المتجددة جنبًا إلى جنب مع القطاع الحكومي، شهدت قدرات المشروعات قيد التطوير ارتفاعًا ملحوظًا، إذ بلغت 3570 ميجاوات، باستثمارات أجنبية مباشرة تقارب 3,5 مليار دولار، ضعف نظيرتها عام 2020.
منها 78% لمشروعات طاقة الرياح بمنطقة خليج السويس على ساحل البحر الأحمر ذات سرعات الرياح العالية، و22% للطاقة الشمسية.
وفي إطار تنويع مصادر الطاقة المتجددة وخاصة المشروعات الصغيرة والمتوسطة، ومالها من مردود إيجابي في زيادة فرص العمل، أصدر مجلس الوزراء القانون 41 لسنة 2019 والخاص بإصدار تعريفة تغذية للطاقة الكهربية المنتجة من المخلفات الصلبة ومعالجة الصرف الصحي بسعر 1,4 جنيه لكل كيلووات ساعة، الأمر الذي ينتظر معه ارتفاع وتيرة تلك المشروعات خلال الفترة القادمة.

Also, the New and Renewable Energy Authority , NREA , has signed a contract for a solar cell plant to produce electricity with a capacity of 50 MW.
In the Zafarana area, as well as the signing of a consultancy contract for a 50 megawatt solar cell plant in Kom Ombo, and the sale of 1.9 million carbon certificates, which indicates the tangible progress of investment in clean energy in Egypt.
Also, the report showed that the production of hydroelectric energy during the year 2021 reached about 13879 million kWh, while wind energy projects recorded about 5443 million kWh, while the energy produced from solar cells connected to the grid amounted to about 4487 million kWh.
This is in addition to about 84 million kWh generated from biofuel projects.
During the same period, this contributed to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 10 million tons of carbon dioxide, and saving about 4.4 million tons of oil equivalent, which highlights the great role of renewable energy in confronting climate change, which is expected to hold the twenty-seventh Conference of the Parties COP27 , next November in Sharm El-Sheikh.
Within the framework of the important role that the private sector plays in achieving the objectives of the National Renewable Energy Strategy, along with the government sector, the capacities of the projects under development have witnessed a remarkable increase, reaching 3,570 megawatts, with foreign direct investments of nearly $3.5 billion, double its counterpart in 2020. Of these, 78 percent are for wind energy projects in the Gulf of Suez region on the Red Sea coast with high wind speeds, and 22 percent for solar energy.
In the context of diversifying renewable energy sources, especially small and medium enterprises, and their positive impact on increasing job opportunities, the Council of Ministers issued Law 41 of 2019 regarding the issuance of a feed-in tariff for electric energy produced from solid waste and sewage treatment at a price of 1.4 Egyptian pounds per kilowatt-hour. Which is expected to increase the pace of these projects in the coming period.
