استقبل د. محمد شاكر وزير الكهرباء والطاقة المتجددة السيد كيفين كاريوكى Kevin Kariuki نائب رئيس بنك التنمية الأفريقى للكهرباء والطاقة والمناخ والنمو الأخضر والوفد رفيع المستوى المرافق له ، لبحث سبل دعم وتعزيز التعاون بين قطاع الكهرباء والبنك وذلك فى اطار تنظيم مصر لمؤتمر الأطراف لاتفاقية الامم المتحدة الاطارية لتغير المناخ COP27 المقرر انعقاده في مدينة شرم الشيخ في نوفمبر القادم.
أشاد د. شاكر بالعلاقات المتميزة بين قطاع الكهرباء وبنك التنمية الأفريقى حيث تعد مشاركة البنك فى تمويل مشروعات القطاع ثقة ًفى نجاح قطاع الكهرباء فى إدارة مشروعاته على أرض مصر والتي تجلت بوضوح خلال العقود الماضية مشيراً إلى أن قطاع الكهرباء والطاقة المتجددة المصري نجح فى الإنتهاء من العديد من المشروعات والبرامج بالتعاون مع البنك .
وأكد د. شاكر أن هذا اللقاء يعكس حرص الوزارة علي تعزيز سبل التعاون مع المؤسسات والمنظمات المختلفة خلال الفترة القادمة والاستفادة من الخبرات المتطورة في مجال الطاقات المتجددة لنشر إستخدامات الطاقات المتجددة وخفض إنبعاثات الكربون وزيادة نصيب مشاركة القطاع الخاص فى مثل تلك المشروعات .
وتم خلال اللقاء بحث سبل التعاون المشترك بين الجانبين في مجال الكهرباء والطاقة الجديدة والمتجددة ومجالات كفاءة استخدام الطاقة والهيدروجين الاخضر .
وأكد الوزير على إهتمام الوزارة بالحفاظ على البيئة وذلك من خلال رفع كفاءة وحدات الإنتاج والإعتماد على وحدات الإنتاج ذات كفاءة عالية والتوسع فى مشروعات الطاقة المتجددة،
كما اشار إلى استراتيجية الدولة التى تهدف لزيادة مساهمة نسبة الطاقة المتجددة في مزيج الطاقة الكهربائية ، والإهتمام الذى يوليه قطاع الكهرباء والطاقة المتجددة لتنويع مصادر إنتاج الطاقة الكهربائية والاستفادة من ثروات مصر الطبيعية وبخاصة مصادر الطاقة الجديدة والمتجددة، والتى تستهدف الوصول بنسبة مساهمة الطاقة المتجددة في مزيج الطاقة في مصر إلى 42٪ بحلول عام 2035.
وأشار خلال اللقاء إلى الإهتمام الذى يوليه القطاع للطاقات المتجددة من خلال خطة طموحة تستهدف زيادة نسبة مشاركة الطاقات المتجددة لتصل إلى حوالى 10 آلاف ميجاوات فى عام 2023.
واشار الوزير الي أنه هناك تعاون مع شركات عالمية للبدء فى المناقشات والدراسات لتنفيذ مشروعات تجريبية لانتاج الهيدروجين الاخضر في مصر كخطوة اولى نحو التوسع في هذا المجال وصولا الى امكانية التصدير ، مؤكداً على إستعداد القطاع للتعاون مع مختلف الأطراف فى هذا المجال .
واشارالوزير الي التعاون مع البنك الأوروبي لإعادة الإعمار والتنمية بشأن توجه مصر نحو إنتاج الهيدروجين الأخضر من خلال توقيع مذكرة تفاهم مع البنك لتقديم منحة لتمويل الأعمال الاستشارية لإعداد الاستراتيجية الوطنية للهيدروجين،
وأكد على الجهود التى تقوم بها مصر لتكون ممر لعبور الطاقة النظيفة التى تتمتع بها القارة الأفريقية، وتحرص مصر على دعم جهود الدول الأفريقية للنفاذ للطاقة النظيفة من المصادر المتجددة.
كما اكد على الإهتمام الذى توليه الحكومة المصرية لتعظيم الإستفادة من الطاقات المتجددة فى تحلية المياه حيث تم إعداد خطة استراتيجية لتحلية المياه من مصادر الطاقة المتجددة بالتعاون بين وزارة الإسكان ووزارة الموارد المائية ،
واكد الدكتور شاكر على الجهود التى يقوم بها قطاع الكهرباء بالتنسيق مع كافة القطاعات والوزارات المعنية للاعداد لتنظيم مؤتمر الأطراف لاتفاقية الامم المتحدة الاطارية لتغير المناخ COP27 المقرر انعقاده في مدينة شرم الشيخ في نوفمبر القادم ليكون هذا المؤتمر نموذج مشرف يليق بالمكانة العالية لمصرنا الحبيبة .
وأكد شاكر على استعداد قطاع الكهرباء المصرى لتقديم الدعم الفنى ونقل خبراته للأشقاء في الدول الأفريقية
ومن جانبه أشاد السيد كيفين كاريوكى Kevin Kariuki نائب رئيس بنك التنمية الأفريقى للكهرباء والطاقة والمناخ والنمو الأخضر بما يمتلكه قطاع الكهرباء والطاقة المتجددة المصرى من خبرات
أكد أن مصر لديها تجربة هامة في التعاون مع مؤسسات التمويل الدولية من خلال مشروعات تنموية تواجه تداعيات التغيرات المناخية، وتدفع التحول نحو الاقتصاد الأخضر، بما يمثل انطلاقة نحو تعزيز التعاون وتبادل الخبرات والتجارب مع الدول الأفريقية ، والدول النامية والناشئة.
وأشاد كيفين كاريوكى بالخبرات الكبيرة التى يمتلكها قطاع الكهرباء المصري في جميع مجالات الكهرباء والطاقات المتجددة والتى تمكنه من تقديم المشورة والدعم الفنى ونقل الخبرات للأشقاء في الدول الأفريقية،
وأكد على رغبته فى زيادة حجم التعاون مع الجانب المصرى فى مختلف المجالات وبصفة خاصة فى مجال زيادة مساهمة الطاقات المتجددة من شمس ورياح ، والمجالات المختلفة للاستفادة من الهيدروجين الاخضر كمصدر للطاقة النظيفة.
كما أكد على استعداد البنك التام على تقديم كافة سبل الدعم من أجل مساندة مصر فى تنظيم مؤتمر الأطراف لاتفاقية الامم المتحدة الاطارية لتغير المناخ COP27 المقرر انعقاده في مدينة شرم الشيخ في نوفمبر القادم.
يأتى هذا الاجتماع ليعكس مدى الاهتمام الكبير لمصر والمنظمات العالمية بهذا الحدث العالمى والمردود الكبير الذى يعود بالنفع على كافة الطراف بالإضافة إلى جذب وتشجيع مشاركة القطاع الخاص في المشروعات المختلفة في قطاع الكهرباء وزيادة حجم الإستثمار على أرض مصر

Vice President of the African Development Bank for Electricity, Energy, Climate
and Green Growth, and his accompanying high-level delegation, to discuss ways
to support and enhance cooperation between the electricity sector and the bank,
within the framework of Egypt’s organization of the Conference of the Parties
to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), to be
held in Sharm El-Sheikh in next November
Dr. Shaker, praised for the distinguished relations between the electricity sector and the African Development Bank, as the bank’s participation in financing the sector’s projects is confidence in the electricity sector’s success in managing its projects on the land of Egypt, which has been clearly demonstrated during the past decades, noting that the Egyptian electricity and renewable energy sector has succeeded in completing many projects and programs In cooperation with the bank
Dr. Shaker confirmed that this meeting reflects the ministry's keenness to enhance ways of cooperation with various institutions and organizations during the coming period and to benefit from advanced experiences in the field of renewable energies to spread the uses of renewable energies, reduce carbon emissions and increase the share of the private sector's participation in such projects
During the meeting, they discussed ways of joint cooperation between the two sides in the field of electricity, new and renewable energy, energy efficiency and green hydrogen
The minister stressed the ministry’s interest in preserving the environment by raising the efficiency of production units, relying on highly efficient production units, and expanding renewable energy projects
He also referred to the state's strategy, which aims to increase the contribution of renewable energy in the electrical energy mix, and the attention given by the electricity and renewable energy sector to diversifying sources of electrical energy production and benefiting from Egypt's natural wealth, especially new and renewable energy sources, which aims to reach the percentage of renewable energy's contribution to the energy mix. in Egypt to 42 percent by 2035
During the meeting, he referred to the sector's interest in renewable energies through an ambitious plan aimed at increasing the share of renewable energies to reach about 10,000 megawatts in 2023
The minister indicated that there is cooperation with international companies to start discussions and studies to implement pilot projects for the production of green hydrogen in Egypt as a first step towards expanding in this field to the possibility of exporting, stressing the sector's readiness to cooperate with various parties in this field
The minister referred to the cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development regarding Egypt's trend towards producing green hydrogen by signing a memorandum of understanding with the Bank to provide a grant to finance advisory work for the preparation of the national hydrogen strategy
He stressed the efforts made by Egypt to be a corridor for the transit of clean energy enjoyed by the African continent, and Egypt is keen to support the efforts of African countries to access clean energy from renewable sources
He also stressed the interest that the Egyptian government attaches to maximizing the use of renewable energies in water desalination, as a strategic plan for desalinating water from renewable energy sources was prepared in cooperation between the Ministry of Housing and Ministry of Water Resources
Dr. Shaker stressed the efforts made by the electricity sector in coordination with all relevant sectors and ministries to prepare for the organization of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), which is scheduled to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh next November, so that this conference will be an honorable model befitting the high status of our beloved Egypt
Shaker stressed the readiness of the Egyptian electricity sector to provide technical support and transfer its expertise to the brothers in African countries
For his part, Mr. Kevin Kariuki, Vice President of the African Development Bank for Electricity, Energy, Climate and Green Growth, praised the expertise of the Egyptian electricity and renewable energy sector
He stressed that Egypt has an important experience in cooperating with international financial institutions through development projects that face the repercussions of climate change, and push the transition towards a green economy, which represents a breakthrough towards strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise and experiences with African countries, and developing and emerging countries
Kevin Kariuki praised the great expertise that the Egyptian electricity sector possesses in all fields of electricity and renewable energies, which enable it to provide advice and technical support and transfer expertise to brothers in African countries
He stressed his desire to increase the volume of cooperation with the Egyptian side in various fields, especially in the field of increasing the contribution of renewable energies from sun and wind, and the various fields to benefit from green hydrogen as a source of clean energy
He also affirmed the bank's full readiness to provide all means of support to support Egypt in organizing Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh next November
This meeting comes to reflect the great interest of Egypt and international organizations in this global event and the great return that benefits all parties in addition to attracting and encouraging the participation of the private sector in various projects in the electricity sector and increasing the volume of investment on the land of Egypt
