كشف مصدر في وزارة الكهرباء، أن استثمارات مشروع تصدير الكهرباء المصرية من مصادر الطاقة المتجددة ستتراوح بين 15 و20 مليار دولار، مؤكد أن الحكومة انتهت مؤخرًا من الدراسات المبدئية للمشروع، وهي بصدد إجراء الدراسات التفصيلية والنهائية بالتعاون مع شركة K&K الإماراتية. كما تجرى دراسة إمكانية استثمار القطاع الخاص في شبكة الكهرباء، بشرط ألا يؤثر ذلك على الأمن القومي، إذ تحظر مصر مشاركة القطاع الخاص في شبكة الكهرباء لأنها مملوكة للدولة، وتمس الأمن القومي.
وبحسب المصدر، فإن الاتحاد الأوروبي سيموّل نحو 50% من تكلفة الدراسات اللازمة لتنفيذ مشروع الربط الكهربائي بين مصر واليونان، وذلك للوقوف على جدوى تنفيذ المشروع. أضافت “مشالي”، في تصريحات لصحيفة “البورصة” على هامش فعاليات مؤتمر غرفة التجارة الأمريكية، أن التمويل اللازم لإجراء الدراسات يصل إلى 20 مليون يورو، سيُقدَّم الاتحاد الأوروبي منها 10 ملايين يورو.
وأكد أن تشغيل المرحلة الأولى من مشروع الربط الكهربائي بين مصر والسعودية سيتم الصيف المقبل، بقدرة 1500 ميجاوات، بعدما وصلت الأعمال إلى المراحل الأخيرة من التنفيذ، في حين سيتم تشغيل المرحلة الثانية قبل نهاية العام الحالي بقدرة 1500 ميجاوات إضافية.الوزارة تستهدف التعاقد على بطاريات لتخزين الطاقة المتجددة من محطات الطاقة الشمسية بواقع 3500 ميجاواط، وتم الإنتهاء من تركيب بطاريات لنحو 300 ميجاواط، مؤكدة تعاقد وزارة البترول على 60 شحنة غاز لتوفير الاحتياجات اللازمة للكهرباء.
وفي سياق متصل، وافقت الجمعية العامة العادية لكل من الشركة القابضة لكهرباء مصر والشركة المصرية لنقل الكهرباء على فصل الأخيرة عن الشركة القابضة وإقرار القوائم المالية الافتتاحية للشركتين، لتبدأ شركة نقل الكهرباء عملها كمشغل للشبكة، وفتح المجال أمام القطاع الخاص المحلي والأجنبي للاستثمار في مجالات الطاقة الجديدة والمتجددة.
وتعد “المصرية لنقل الكهرباء” الشركة الوحيدة في مصر المنوط بها شراء الطاقة من شركات إنتاج الكهرباء الحكومية والخاصة، وبيعها إلى شركات توزيع الكهرباء الحكومية، كما أنها مسؤولة عن كافة مشروعات الربط الكهربائي بين مصر والدول الأخرى، وتعد عملية الفصل خطوة لتكون السوق مفتوحة، وضمن خطوات لتحرير السوق بشكل كامل.

The Source added, in statements to Al Borsa newspaper on the sidelines of the American Chamber of Commerce conference, that the funding needed to conduct the studies amounts to 20 million euros, of which 10 million euros will be provided by the European Union.
Confirmed that the first phase of the electricity interconnection project between Egypt and Saudi Arabia will be operational next summer, with a capacity of 1,500 megawatts, after work reached the final stages of implementation.
The second phase will be operational before the end of this year, with an additional capacity of 1,500 megawatts. The Deputy Minister of Electricity said that the ministry aims to contract batteries to store renewable energy from solar power plants, amounting to 3,500 megawatts, and that the installation of batteries for approximately 300 megawatts has been completed.
Confirmed that the Ministry of Petroleum has contracted for 60 gas shipments to meet the necessary electricity needs.
In a related context, the ordinary general assemblies of both the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company and the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company approved the separation of the latter from the holding company and the approval of the opening financial statements of both companies.
This will allow the Electricity Transmission Company to begin its work as the grid operator, opening the way for the local and foreign private sector to invest in new and renewable energy sectors.
The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company is the only company in Egypt charged with purchasing power from public and private electricity generation companies and selling it to public electricity distribution companies.
It is also responsible for all electricity interconnection projects between Egypt and other countries. The decoupling process is a step toward opening up the market and is part of a broader effort to fully liberalize the market.
