With COP27 only 12 days away.. we are joining hands with the Government of Egypt to prepare #SharmElSheikh for the biggest climate convention
Egypt’s Minister of Environment has paid a visit to the roof top that has a solar power plant with 950 kilowatts capacity, accompanied by Alessandro Fracassetti UNDP Egypt Resident Representative, Sylvan Merlen, Deputy Resident Representative, Mr Tobias Krause, Deputy Head of Delegation European Union, Dr. Mohamed Bayoumi, UNDP Egypt Assistant Resident Representative and Environment Leader, and Dr. Hend Farouh, Egypt PV Project Manager
This solar power plant will supply Sharm El Sheikh’s Convention Center with green electricity throughout #COP27. We are proud that its mechanical installation has been already completed, while initial commissioning is currently underway
This project has been carried out in cooperation with the Industrial Modernization Centre, IMC, Egypt and the Ministry of Electricity & Energy. It is funded by the European Union to support the COP27 Presidency, in partnership between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNDP Egypt through GEF

قام وزير البيئة المصري بزيارة إلى السطح الذي يحتوي على محطة للطاقة الشمسية بسعة 950 كيلووات ، يرافقه أليساندرو فراكاسيتي الممثل المقيم لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي في مصر ، سيلفان ميرلين ، نائب الممثل المقيم ، السيد توبياس كراوس ، نائب رئيس الوفد الأوروبي. محمد بيومي ، مساعد الممثل المقيم لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي في مصر وقائد بيئي ، ود. هند فروح ، مديرة مشروع الطاقة الكهروضوئية في مصر.
ستزود محطة الطاقة الشمسية مركز المؤتمرات بشرم الشيخ بالكهرباء الخضراء طوال # COP27. نحن فخورون بأن تركيبها الميكانيكي اكتمل بالفعل ، بينما يجري التشغيل الأولي حاليًا.
تم تنفيذ هذا المشروع بالتعاون مع مركز تحديث الصناعة ، IMC ، مصر ووزارة الكهرباء والطاقة. يتم تمويله من قبل الاتحاد الأوروبي لدعم رئاسة COP27 ، بالشراكة بين وزارة الخارجية وبرنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي في مصر من خلال مرفق البيئة العالمية.
من دواعي سروري أن أكون جزءًا من هذا المشروع ونتطلع إلى رؤية التأثير الكبير الذي سيحدثه على كل من يحضر CO.
