A new book that monitors Egypt's
efforts to protect the climate
As part of his series of books
on climate change, the Cairo International Book Fair is witnessing, in its new
session, the publication of the book "Egypt's Efforts to Protect the
Climate" by journalist Mr. Abdel-Gawad Abukab, who is presenting at the
same time his second book, entitled : Climate Wars in the Arab Region
The book comes from the fact
that Egypt is one of the countries most exposed to the risks resulting from the
effects of climate change, although it is one of the least contributing
countries in the world to greenhouse gas emissions globally, and based on the
fact that it is under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, who is
the first president to attach importance to the environment and its issues great
interest, at the internal and external levels, via clear political will that
made it take strong and steady steps in the file of climate change and
environmental preservation, which has received global recognition, which
resulted in the United Nations’ support for Egypt to organize the Biological
Diversity Conference in 2018, and the Climate Summit 2022, in appreciation of
its presentation and progress in this
field, and a belief in Egypt's ability to lead international efforts in dealing
with climate change and its impacts

details of Egypt's efforts in preparing and organizing the United Nations
Climate Summit "COP27" and cause of world considered it the summit
"implementation summit", and how world leaders saw the Egyptian role
in leading the world's efforts to deal with this global crisis in light of the
post-Corona repercussions

that Egypt is exposed to due to climate changes and how the state deals with
them. The author monitors, through more than ten chapters, the efforts of the
Egyptian state in protecting Climate and promoting the green economy, and the
plans of the various ministries in this direction, especially the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs, and what it presented in the framework of environmental
diplomacy, and the Ministry of environment, which is the main player and the
common denominator in all climate protection activities and efforts, and
Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and its completed initiatives in
the file, in addition to the ministries of International Cooperation,
Transport, Agriculture, Irrigation, Communications, Trade & Industry,
Youth, Solidarity, Finance and Culture, Ministry of Education and all sectors
of the state
