The premiere of IFAT Environmental Technology Forum Africa is causing a buzz in the industry: Due to the high demand, the exhibition space has been extended. In addition, exhibition space has been made available in the outdoor area for those exhibitors with special requirements. The trade fair, which takes place between September 15 and 18, 2015 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, will feature 90 exhibitors from 13 countries including Endress + Hauser, Festo, Grundfos, Hammel Recylingtechnik GmbH, Huber Technology (Pty) Ltd, Netzsch Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd, Pumptron (Gorman-Rupp Pumps), Ritz Pumps South Africa (Pty) Ltd, Wilo Pumps SA (Pty) Ltd and Xylem Water Solutions

Focus on mining
The trade fair will also feature a Forum. One of the main focuses of this program is mining, in particular the impact of mining on the environment. In Africa mining continues to play an important role. But what consequences can it have and what options are available for properly assessing these effects and keeping their impact down to a minimum? These questions will be addressed in a range of presentations on the mining sector. Following an introductory discussion: 'The mining sector—impacts on and solutions for the environment', South African and international partners will be presenting talks and panel discussions on 'Water, sewage, refuse and recycling—solutions for the mining and construction industry', 'Identifying best practice for water management in the mining industry—use, treatment and disposal' and 'Challenges and solutions for the mining and construction industry'. The focus here will be on individual projects, challenges and solutions

Africa in focus
The African market continues to offer much potential. But just what are the possibilities? What special aspects have to be taken into account? Answers to these and other questions will be given in the 'Country Special' and a presentation on 'German solutions to African Challenges'.

Perspectives for the water sector
The subject of water—a strong focus in all the IFAT brand events—also comes under the spotlight in the supporting program. Two sessions are dedicated to water management in mining areas. Specific aspects under examination are: 'Groundwater and surface water' and 'Tools and concepts for river catchment management in the mining industry'. Another presentation is dedicated to 'Water and energy efficiency: opportunities for municipalities and waste water treatment plants'

The Forum will be hosted in the exhibition hall and is open to all visitors to IFAT Environmental Technology Forum Africa. For detailed information on the sessions, the organizers, partners and speakers, go to: www.ifatforum-africa.com/forum-programme.php
