البلاستيكية سيؤدى إلى تحسن ملحوظ في حياتنا والبيئة من حولنا
يدور الفيلم التسجيلي
" باج إت" حول منتج نستخدمه جميعاً في حياتنا اليومية؛ الأكياس
البلاستيكية، بما لها من أضرار بالغة من جراء الاستخدام.
الأكياس البلاستيكية موجودة في كل مكان وتؤثر على حياتنا بالسلب بصور مخيفة لا يمكن تصديقها. في الفيلم المؤثر الذي تدور أحداثة في إطار فكاهي نتتبع جب برير بينما هو وشريكة حياته آن يشرعان في القيام برحلة لاستخدام قدر أقل من منتجات مادة البلاستيك. نجد الفيلم في هذا الإطار يقدم قصة واقعية واستفزازية وعاطفية عن الآثار السلبية لاستخدام المنتجات البلاستيكية

يستهلك المصريون حوالي
١٢ مليار كيس بلاستيك سنويا
الاكياس
البلاستيكية منتشرة في كل مجالات حياتنا وتتسبب في قتل الحياة البرية من حولنا كما
تحدث أضرارا بيئية خطيرة على البيئة من حولنا، وبخاصة في نهر النيل والبحار
معظم الأكياس
البلاستيكية تحترق وتلوث الهواء بغازات سامة، كما أن التخلص من الأكياس الغير
قابلة للتحلل البيولوچي يؤثر سلباً على الطبيعة والصحة العامة والمناخ.
بناءا على هذه الحقائق فإن حظر استخدام الأكياس البلاستيكية يمكن أن يسهم
في تحسّن الظروف الصحية للناس والحياة البرية على حد سواء ويسهم في التخفيف
من آثار التغير المناخي
في مصر
فرضت العديد من الدول
بالفعل حظراً على استخدام على استخدام الأكياس البلاستيكية ومن بينها أستراليا
وبنجلاديش والمغرب وتنزانيا وآخرين. وكانت رواندا أول دولة إِفريقية تحظر استخدام
الأكياس البلاستيكية في عام ٢٠٠٨
من خلال رؤيتها بتطبيق الإستدامة حتى
عام ٢٠٢٠.
في الأونة الأخيرة وافق
البرلمان الأوربي على قواعد الحد من استخدام الأكياس البلاستيكية. أطلقت بلدان
أخرى مبادرات لوضع حد لمخاطر استخدام الأكياس البلاستيكية؛ أطلقت مصر على سبيل
المثال مبادرة وطنية تسمى "كفي أكياس بلاستيك" مبادرة محمودة من أجل
إنهاء استخدام الأكياس البلاستيكية في مصر وجميع أنحاء العالم.
يقوم منتدى القاهرة
للتغير المناخي بعرض فيلم "باج إت" ويستضيف خبراء من خلفيات متنوعة فيما
فيها البيئة والمجتمع المدني لحضورالعرض ومتابعة نقاش تفاعلي حول الأفكار التي يقدمها
الفيلم وكيفية تطبيقها على الواقع المصري.

Joins us for the 56th Cairo Climate Talks in cooperation with Tahrir Lounge to
discuss how a small change in our daily behavior– using fewer plastic bags, can
dramatically improve our lives and our environment.
The documentary “Bag It” explores a product we all use – the plastic bag– and its harmful consequences of using it. Plastic bags are everywhere and impact our lives in inconceivable and quite frightening ways. In this touching and humorous film, we follow Jeb Berrier, as he and his partner, Anne, embark on a journey to use less plastic. The film presents a factual, provocative and emotional story about the negative effects of plastic.
Egyptians use about 12 billion plastic bags each year. These plastic bags litter our landscape, kill our wildlife, and cause severe problems to our environment, and particularly the Nile River and the seas. Plastic bags kill marine life and adversely affect the tourism sector. Plastic bags are mostly burned, polluting the air with toxic fumes.
The documentary “Bag It” explores a product we all use – the plastic bag– and its harmful consequences of using it. Plastic bags are everywhere and impact our lives in inconceivable and quite frightening ways. Disposal of non-biodegradable bags adversely affects nature,
our health and the climate.
Based on these facts, banning plastic bags can improve
health conditions for people and wildlife alike and can even help mitigating
climate change in Egypt.Many counties have already banned plastic bags like Australia, Bangladesh,
Morocco, Tanzania, etc. In 2008, Rwanda was the first African country to impose
a complete ban on plastic bags as per their sustainability vision of 2020.
Recently, the European Parliament approved new rules to
reduce the use of plastic bags. Other countries have launched initiatives to
put an end to the plastic bag hazard. For instance, in 2017, Egypt launched
a national initiative called “Enough Plastic Bags”, a welcome initiative
towards ending the use of plastic bags in Egypt and all over the world.
In this special event of the Cairo Climate Talks in cooperation with Tahrir Lounge, we will be screening movie “Bag It” and hosting experts from different backgrounds including environmental experts and representatives from private sector and civil society for a casual movie screening and light snacks, followed by an interactive discussion on the ideas the movie explores and its implementation in the Egyptian context.
In this special event of the Cairo Climate Talks in cooperation with Tahrir Lounge, we will be screening movie “Bag It” and hosting experts from different backgrounds including environmental experts and representatives from private sector and civil society for a casual movie screening and light snacks, followed by an interactive discussion on the ideas the movie explores and its implementation in the Egyptian context.
